Ok, the post subject is far more clever and amusing than today's video will be. Sorry, I just had to get something to grab your attention. What you'll see in this video is my cat, Tecas, pretty much annihilating a Santa toy I got her. I could never bring myself to throw the dumb thing away and she beat it up until there was only a shred of beard left. R.I.P. Santa.
As an aside, Raymer (all grown up now) was placed in February 2005 with a 19yr old male who had been paralyzed in an auto accident.
Here are Brad and Calvin (nephew) on Christmas two years ago. Kids love it when adults do things they really shouldn't be doing.
Because we have no children, Brad and I get to teach our nieces and nephews all sorts of things that we really shouldn't be teaching them (how to put a candle out with your fingers, putting your fingers through candle flames, various dangerous flips on the trampoline, jump from a speeding car...yeah I made that one up). We also get to buy them annoying presents their parents wouldn't buy them like this and this. Lastly, we get to do strange things (as witnessed in this video) and they then think of us as the cool aunt and uncle. Sweet.Back on New Year's Eve (2005) I took Alyssa to see the Harlem Globetrotters at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. That's where today's RVotD comes from. She really loved the part where they came out and did tricks like these. You can probably hear her shouting in the background. It was a great day for a 9yr old and her Aunt.
As promised, another random video!
Today it's my cat, Tecas. In the bag, then out of the bag. Contain yourself, I know the excitement is overwhelming! And, even better, you can hardly see anything! Don't bother asking yourself how you got so lucky. Just accept that you are, indeed, lucky! Make sure to listen for her quacking meow. Man, life does not get any better.I have a bunch of little snippets of video taken with my digital camera. Because I don't have anything better to do with them, I figured I'd do my own take on "Question of the Day" and make a new posting for "Random Video of the Day."
Today's video features Cathy and Randy (and then Ruby) jumping over a broom the day after their wedding.
According to the Wikipedia Article, jumping over a broom represents two things.
"The first (is) the wife's commitment or willingness to clean the courtyard of the new home she (has) joined. Furthermore, it (expresses) her overall commitment to the house. The second thing (is) the determination of who (runs) the household. Whoever (jumps) highest over the broom (is) the decision maker of the household."
I looked over the video in slow motion frame by frame and I swear that Cathy has jumped higher over the broom than Randy. I guess we know who the decision maker is now, don' t we?
