Leaps and Bounds

Aw, I missed meeting her during her baby stage!! Post another video for me, please! I wanna see that smile of hers.

I didn't know you could or should RF a baby past a few months. But I haven't really given any thought to carseats or anything. I'll certainly take your advice into a lot of consideration. I can only assume you're saying it's safer?

Oh yeah, don't expect to find a used Outback. That's what we wanted and they were impossible to find or really expensive (so we splurged and went brand new). Hope that you can find something!

I am going to RF Harper as long as I think I can. Here's an interesting video with some more info for you (Joel's story). The child didn't die so don't worry about having to deal with that : http://www.joelsjourney.org/ViewJoelsvideo.html

Brand new car!? Nope, ain't gonna happen for us. There is no way we could afford that. Oh well.

Yeah, you should keep your baby rear facing for at least the first year, but honestly, the longer you do it, the safer it is. We also have a carseat that is for RF up to 35 pounds. My mom has the same one in her car. :)

So Miss H is almost walking? Wait til she takes off! You have no idea how hectic your life is going to be then. LOL.

Miles' sleep got all screwed up when his top teeth came in. For some reason those were more painful and seemed to take forever to fully break through. He is now getting his next 4 teeth in the front (sorry I don't know the teeth names..incisors, I guess?) so his sleep has been messed up again. I have read that pineapple helps in healing sore teeth/gums so I try to give pineapple for a snack as much as possible. We also use the hylands teething tablets. I am not sure if they help any, but my ped is anti orajel (and I agree) so we're sticking to the natural remedies. I TOTALLY understand the insomnia thing. I can't fall asleep while Miles nurses anymore because he is so jumpy and flopping all over the place while he nurses and then he'll pop off and sing or talk. When he was a baby, I would just latch him on and fall right back to sleep! Miles sleeps from 7-6, but if the dog sneezes or the wind blows I wake up and can't get back. I think your body and mind just get used to not sleeping too deeply becasue you're listening out for the baby that even once they start sleeping long stretches your sleep is disturbed by every little thing. And to think, most people in my shoes are already working on #2! Insane.

Maybe they figure that as long as you're not sleeping well, might as well get another infant and get it over with?? Mmm, sleep. I'm going to bed in about 2.5 minutes.

I just had no idea about the RF, thanks for the info. And seriously, bring the advice on! No one else is giving it to me....

Are teething tablets pills, or something he can chew on and feel better?

The teething tablets are these little tabs that you put under their tongues. They have homeopathic numbing/soothing properties. I used them at first with Harper when she was getting her first 2 teeth but they only worked for like 5 minutes with her. She would open her mouth up and take them no problem and settle right down. In all honesty, though, her teeth haven't seemed to be too terrible to deal with. A few days of some fussing and maybe a little more waking up at night and lots of drool but not the nightmares you hear about with some kids. Of course, I say that now and it will all change tonight....she's cutting her top two middles as we speak....and grinding them....ewwwww!

I never put drool together with teething. I've got so much to learn. So how many teeth does H have now, in total?

Still only 2.5! But, there are 3.5 other top teeth that I can see bulging out. Drool, yeah, that's a big one with the teeth. Slap a bib on and forget about it :) Also, drool = ingestion of drool = strange poop. Nice, huh?
I am going to whisper this so Erika doesn't hear it....Miles was NEVER a drooly baby. No matter if he was teething or not, he has NEVER drooled. He also has spit up maybe 3 times in his entire life. I never really used any of the bibs (we have a whole drawer full) or burp cloths people bought for us. I know, I am extremely lucky. Miles was just such an easy baby! I hope the next one(s) are like that too!
Well you can share some of those bibs with me, I bet I get a drooler. And ew, never thought about what drool would do to poop. I'm trying to forget the fact that my baby will ever even poop at all. I'm so not ready to deal with that "end" of things :)
Breastfed baby poop is nothing bad at all, it doesn't smell. Once they start solids it's a little gross, but honestly when it's your baby, you don't mind.
